CONCEPTIONMEDIA is a full-service production company specializing in social-interest documentaries and public service films.

Established in October 2001 by filmmaker Mark Manning, ConceptionMedia is committed to providing exposure to the issues that fundamentally affect us all, but have limited or no coverage in today’s mainstream media.

Our goal at ConceptionMedia is to empower people through information and compelling storytelling.

Our Documentary Films connect people to their common humanity, bridging cultural and social divides in order to find common ground and uncover effective solutions to the most pressing issues of our time.

Through our Public Service Films, ConceptionMedia provides exposure to companies and organizations that are providing positive and innovative services to humanity.

We have a dyamic team of filmmakers, sound engineers, editors, writers, researchers, and designers who bring their passion and expertise to each project, creating films that make a difference.

ConceptionMedia uses only state of the art, high-definition land and underwater cameras, sound, lighting, and editing equipment to produce the highest quality films for education, television, and theatrical release.
”How wonderful it is
that nobody need wait

  MARK MANNING
Director / Producer

Mark Manning is a former professional deep sea diver who worked the offshore oil fields for 22 years, diving in depths of over 400 feet.  In October of 2001, realizing that important social issues were not being adequately addressed or investigated, Manning founded ConceptionMedia, an independent film production company specializing in documentaries.  Rather than focusing on our differences, Manning’s films bridge divides and offer the possibility that the answers lie in our common bond as humans.

  SARAH JOSEPH, Ph.D.
Researcher

Born and raised in Southern California, Sarah recently returned to the region after spending nearly a decade away studying.  She first completed her BSc in Wildlife Biology at the University of California, Davis, and then moved to Australia for four years to complete her PhD on feral horse behavior and management at the University of Queensland.  Although Sarah’s educational background focused on animals and the natural world, her real passion has always been educating others through media, specifically documentary film.  She shares ConceptionMedia’s goal to present unbiased, accessible information to the public so that people can make informed decisions about how they participate in the world around them.
